SPEECH AND COMMUNICATION

This course aims to:

introduce students to various components, and their related functions, in the model of communication
explain verbal and non-verbal means of communicating, which includes barriers of communication
enable students to formulate various speech structures with effective use of language styles
guide students to present speeches rhetorically

OBJECTIVE:
Successful students in this course can:

outline the universal theories pertaining to speech communication
apply appropriate attitudes for speaking in particular communication situation
portray competence in the preparation of speech texts
conceptualize, plan and deliver a short public speech
